Bob Treseler
The formation of TRESELER ZALBE LLC is a natural extension for Managing
Partner Bob Treseler. As President of Treseler Marketing and Business Development, Bob spent the last twenty years developing and growing small to medium sized businesses, both domestically and internationally, and managing assets for high net worth individuals across the United States. Bob brings an intense personal commitment to every project he undertakes, and maintains a ‘hands on’ approach in assisting individual and corporate clients to recognize and solve their business development and marketing challenges.
A native of San Francisco, CA, Bob graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1983 with a degree in Political Science. Eschewing the traditional Political Science career track(s) of ‘Law School’, ‘teaching’, ‘government service’, and ‘advanced political science academic study’, Bob began his post graduate professional career in direct sales with WM Industries. Quickly climbing the corporate ladder, Bob was one year later running a regional office in Phoenix, AZ, managing a sales force in excess of 100.
In 1985 Bob was recruited by Scarborough Industries, and came to Washington, DC in 1987 to develop the Mid-Atlantic Region and manage the sales operations for this Los Angeles based direct marketer. By 1991 the Mid-Atlantic region consisted of 13 offices and accounted for annual gross sales of $10,000,000, or, in excess of 60% of the national business. In 1992, Bob moved to Sydney, Australia to launch and oversee all aspects of
currency exchange, sales, marketing, import-export, and business operations for the company in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Asia. Establishing operations in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, and the Gold Coast, first year sales reached $4,000,000 (US).
After one year in Australia, he returned to Washington, DC to take a position with Legg Mason, a leading regional money management firm. In addition to managing portfolios for select, leading national individuals, Bob worked with Alex Brown and the Montgomery County Revenue Authority to arrange financing for Hampshire Greens Golf Course. Bob enjoyed his success with Legg before leaving in 1997 to return to his basketball roots, to found and develop the Washington (Justice) and Baltimore (Blaze) franchises for the National Rookie League (NRL), a non-affiliated minor league for the National Basketball Association (NBA).
In 1997 Bob also began his own consulting business. In addition to his work with the NRL, Bob has worked in a consultative role with Nike, Builders Design, Sport & Health, On Site E Discovery, Citrix Government Systems, The Grevey Foundation, Washington Sports & Entertainment, Lincoln Holdings, the Washington Capitals, Washington Wizards, Washington Mystics, Booz Allen Classic, The UPS Stores, and UPS.
In 2001, Bob co-founded The Grevey Foundation, which works with its "virtual partners" at Fairfax County Public Schools to improve the lives of children through education, organized community activities and improved living standards.
