NHL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
ALEX OVECHKIN
RETAINS TRESELER ZALBE FOR MARKETING REPRESENTATION

Washington, D.C., February 26, 2007 – Treseler Zalbe LLC, a nationally recognized sports & entertainment marketing agency specializing in corporate consulting, event marketing, property representation, sponsorship activation and celebrity integration, has been retained by 2006 NHL Rookie of the Year Alex Ovechkin for his marketing representation.

Treseler Zalbe will represent the Washington Capitals left wing Ovechkin in all areas of marketing including endorsements, licensing, corporate partnerships, publishing, speaking engagements, personal appearances and other areas to help capitalize on his global popularity and tremendous on-ice success. Treseler Zalbe is working in partnership with Sports International Group's Boris Lelchitski and Konstantin Selinevich who are managing Alex Ovechkin's business interests.

"Alex is one of the most internationally recognized, popular and admired hockey players today," said Bruce Zalbe, managing partner of Treseler Zalbe. "He is driven and focused, and generates incredible excitement when he's on the ice. With our strong relationships in the corporate sector, Treseler Zalbe is ideally suited to identify sponsorship opportunities available to Alex. We are excited to have the opportunity to work with this true superstar."

A 21-year-old native of Moscow, Ovechkin became the first Washington Capitals player to win the 2006 Calder Memorial Trophy, presented to the NHL rookie of the year, and was named to the NHL First All-Star Team and the NHL All-Rookie Team. Ovechkin was also one of three finalists for the Lester B. Pearson Award as the most outstanding player as selected by the NHL Players' Association. He was the first Capitals forward ever to earn a spot on one of the league's postseason All-Star Teams and was the first rookie named to the NHL All-Star First Team since 1992-93.

Ovechkin finished his rookie season as just the second NHL rookie in the history of the league to record 50 goals and 100 points. His 52 goals and 106 points both ranked third all-time among NHL rookies. Ovechkin's point total was the second best in Washington Capitals history and his goal total was tied for third in franchise history. He finished third overall in NHL scoring and tied for third in goals. Additionally, his shot total (425) led the league and set an NHL rookie record. It was also the fourth-highest total in NHL history.
